These very creative (and very difficult!) studies are a brilliant addition to the repertoire as a pedagogical tool. These are not just studies, they are music. Each of the 22 pieces is very different in style, ranging from rags to Baroque to mixed metre pieces. These pieces could not only be used to focus on an aspect of playing the trumpet, they could be used as unaccompanied works on a concert or recital.
