Born Melanie Helene Bonis, the composer wrote music under the pseudonym of Mel Bonis because she felt women weren t taken seriously as artists at the time. This lively piece was originally written for piano and has the feel of a galop, fanfare and show piece all rolled onto one. It s a headlong musical frolic from the double-tonguing opening to the big finish and it s downhill all the way. It practically plays itself! A great finale or encore piece that will leave your audiences smiling.
