Tribal Dance is a technical showpiece for the woodwinds. Its slow opening features the sax section and then proceeds to a rhythmic triplet figure which gradually accelerates to a furious tempo at the conclusion. The title of the piece is actually Lesghinka as it has been taken from the Iveria Suite of Ippolitov-Ivanov. Tight ensemble playing, rustic percussion parts and exciting technical parts make this a piece to demonstrate the control of an ensemble. |
