| A graduate of the University of Toronto (BMus) and the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester (MMus) Kenneth Bray began piano lessons at age five, and later studied tuba in high school and bassoon at university level. Before war service in World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force, he was an itinerant music supervisor in several Muskoka District (Ontario) schools. After university studies, he taught high school, later serving on faculties at the universities of Toronto and Western Ontario. He was active in teaching, performing, arranging and composing music most of his life. He has many choral and instrumental publications to his credit and has co-authored the following series: For Young Musicians, Solos for Schools and Reflections of Canada. He completed his career as Professor Emeritus at the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Bray passed away in June 1999. |
