Brass
The solo repertoire for brass instruments is fairly substantial. For hundreds of years composers have recognized the soloistic capabilitites of the trumpet, the trombone, the horn and the tuba. Eighth Note Publications hopes to not only add more new modern pieces for solo brass instruments but insteresting and creative transcriptions of works that were not originally for brass.
In the last 15 years there has been a growing interest in performing chamber music all over the world. Brass ensembles were among the first to gain in popularity and therefore a demand for quality brass arrangements and compositions has been created. The brass quintet has risen to become a highly respected chamber ensemble and many professional groups are emerging. Various combinations of brass are used at almost every occasion: fanfares to open a horse race, duets, trios, quartets and quintets to play in lounges as background music and larger brass groups such as brass choirs and brass bands that regularly perform concerts all over the world.
